The scale of one’s reach is partially influenced by the ground they can cover, with some adventures spanning cities, countries, or even continents. Both professionally and personal, Rachel Loko’s own adventure has done just that. With the perspective of a world-seasoned traveler, her professional experiences have spanned from London to New York, from Paris to the interior of Africa. Due to her international experiences, Loko has neonative fluency in both French and English.

Early in her career, Rachel Loko lived in Paris, where she earned a graduate degree with honors from the University of Paris V, before attending university in the United States. Following her studies, Loko was an associate for both Shearman & Sterling and Britain’s Magic Circle firm Allen and Overy. She has participated in cutting-edge matters, touching multiple ecosystems and industries in government, nonprofits, and Wall Street. Rachel Loko’s experience spans derivatives, investment management, and international and economic development.

The touchstone of Rachel Loko’s work has been service. Over the course of her career, she has volunteered her time to a range of pursuits. Loko has served as a mentor for university students seeking experience and opportunities in international and financial affairs, and a foothold in emerging industries. Financial literacy has also been a point of particular interest, and she has supported a range of organizations and universities in forwarding basic awareness of key concepts central to understanding economics. In this way, she has shared her time extensively with university students, and delivered a range of lectures covering microfinance, credit rating agencies and the ISDA Master Agreement.

Rachel’s leisure interests focus on travel, the future of travel, and the post-pandemic world of leisure and entertainment. You can visit her on her LinkedIn page or on Twitter, where she talks art and philosophy, and where she’d like to go and see when the world gets its COVID shots.
